I've noticed that even with training, toolbox talks and visible signage, some workers still resist wearing proper PPE, especially in hot environments.
I'm curious about practical strategies that actually work because traditional "enforce the rules" approaches often backfire.
I think the issue is often comfort and convenience, not ignorance. Workers know the rules but choose speed/comfort over safety when they think risk is low. We need better PPE and better buy-in.
Questions for the community:
- What specific tactics have worked for you to increase PPE compliance without constant policing?
- How do you balance comfort (especially in Nigerian heat) with protection?
- Have you found any PPE brands/models that workers actually want to wear?
Looking forward to learning from you all! 🙌
