From Standard to Site: Implementing ISO 45001:2018
About Course
Most ISO 45001 courses teach you the clauses. This one makes you build the system.
You have just been appointed OH&S Implementation Lead at Delta Flow Energy, a Nigerian downstream petroleum company with a storage terminal and jetty on a tidal creek, a lubricant blending plant in Trans-Amadi, a tanker fleet and a head office in Port Harcourt. Eight months ago, a loading arm failure at Bay 3 led to a fire that burned two operators and injured a tanker driver. Now the board wants an occupational health and safety management system that conforms to ISO 45001:2018, and certification readiness within a year.
The regulators are watching. The insurer has linked renewal to its recommendations. The branch union wants worker representatives on the safety committee, and the Sokibara community wants its people protected. You have ₦160 million, no dedicated team, and managers who would rather you went away.
Across a welcome module, eleven working modules and a capstone, you take Delta Flow from a baseline gap assessment to certification readiness. You read the evidence, make the decisions and write the documents yourself. Every module ends with a real deliverable. Check your decisions with an instant self-check, then compare your work with a model answer and score it against the published rubric. Your capstone is marked personally by your instructor.
Why this course is different
- Built on ISO 45001:2018, including Amendment 1:2024. Covers the climate change additions and what they mean for hazards, working conditions and emergencies on a real site.
- A real-world case, not a textbook example. Lone gaugers on tank roofs, a padlocked fire exit, contractors chosen on price, tanker drivers on long hours and a Terminal Manager protecting throughput. These are the problems HSE professionals meet on Nigerian sites every week.
- Worker participation done properly. Night shift, contractors and drivers included, not just a committee that meets when it can.
- Short videos you can fit around work. 126 lessons, none longer than five minutes, so you can learn on your phone between site visits.
- A toolkit you keep. An Excel workbook of 16 registers and 21 written templates: gap assessment, hazard register, legal register, permit to work, management of change, emergency plan, audit programme, CAPA log and more. Use them at work long after the course.
- The hard conversations, too. You will reply to a Managing Director, push back on a Terminal Manager and say no to a Finance Director. ISO 45001 is implemented through people, and this course reflects that.
- A capstone that proves it. You finish with a complete OH&S Implementation Pack, a board presentation and a recorded mock certification audit, then a final exam and a certificate of completion.
If you have ever been handed a standard and told “get us certified”, this is the course that shows you how.
