Refund Policy
Last updated: September 2026
This Refund Policy applies to all courses purchased from The HSE Exchange through www.thehseexchange.com. By purchasing a course, you agree to this policy. It forms part of our Terms and Conditions.
1. Our commitment
We want you to be confident that a course is right for you before you pay. Every course page sets out who the course is for, what it covers and how long it takes, and at least one lesson is available to preview free of charge. If you have questions before you enrol, contact us by email at Support@thehseexchange.com, and we will answer them.
2. When you can request a refund
You may request a refund under the conditions below. Any unrecoverable payment-provider transaction fee will be deducted as explained below:
- You make the request within 7 days of the date of purchase; and
- You have completed 25% or less of the course content, as recorded on your student dashboard; and
- No certificate of completion has been issued to you for the course.
If you meet these conditions, we will refund the amount you paid, less any transaction fee charged by the payment provider that we are unable to recover. We will tell you the exact deduction and refund amount before processing your request. This deduction does not apply to refunds described as full refunds elsewhere in this policy.
3. When a refund is not available
Because our courses are digital content that is available in full immediately after purchase, a refund is not available where:
- More than 7 days have passed since the date of purchase;
- You have completed more than 25% of the course content;
- A certificate of completion has been issued;
- The course was provided free of charge, including through a 100% discount code, so there is no payment to refund. Paid purchases made at a sale price or with a partial discount code remain eligible under the same refund conditions;
- Your access has been suspended or terminated for a breach of our Terms and Conditions, including sharing your login details or distributing course materials; or
- You purchased the course through a corporate or group enrolment, in which case the terms of that agreement apply.
4. Duplicate and mistaken payments
If you are charged more than once for the same course, or you paid for the wrong course, tell us within 14 days and we will refund the duplicate or mistaken payment in full, or transfer your enrolment to the course you intended to buy, whichever you prefer.
5. Technical problems
If you cannot access a course because of a fault on our side that we are unable to fix within 5 working days of you reporting it, you may request a full refund of the amount paid. Alternatively, you may choose to keep your enrolment while we restore access. If your course has a fixed access period, we will extend it by the period of lost access; lifetime access does not require an extension. Problems caused by your own device, browser or internet connection do not qualify under this provision, but we will do our best to help you resolve them.
6. Corporate and group enrolments
Refunds for corporate seat packs, in-company training and group enrolments are governed by the written agreement or invoice terms for that engagement. In the absence of specific terms, unused seats may be refunded or credited within 30 days of the invoice date, and seats that have been activated by a learner are non-refundable.
7. How to request a refund
Send your request to Support@thehseexchange.com from the email address registered on your account. Include your full name, the course title, the date of purchase and your payment reference. We will acknowledge your request within 2 working days and tell you our decision within 5 working days.
8. How refunds are paid
Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method through our payment provider. Refunds usually arrive within 5 to 10 working days depending on your bank. Where a refund to the original method is not possible, we will ask you for bank account details and pay by transfer. We do not pay refunds in cash.
9. Your rights under Nigerian law
Nothing in this policy limits your rights under the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Act 2018 or any other law that applies to you.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The version in force on the date of your purchase applies to that purchase.
